A little help
for the logbook.

Family sharing, spreadsheets, and your data. Everything in one place, with the receipts.

01 · First miles

Getting started

Install your invited build through TestFlight, open Glovebox, and sign in with Apple. A new logbook starts empty. Add a vehicle, then record a fill-up, charge, cost, or note.

Glovebox is currently in beta, with this round focused on iPhone. Family TestFlight access requires Apple’s beta review and an invitation; there is no public signup link yet.

02 · One family, one fleet

Invite your household

In Glovebox, open Settings → invite a member → Invite or manage people. Apple’s sharing sheet handles the invitation and people with access. Each person needs Glovebox installed and their own iCloud account.

Your personal fleet stays separate when you join a shared fleet. A participant can use Leave shared fleet to leave; the owner manages access through Apple’s sharing sheet.

“Sharing unavailable” even though sync is healthy?
Sync between your own devices and a family invitation are separate iCloud operations. Update to the latest available TestFlight build, check Settings → iCloud sync, then retry the invitation. If it still fails, send support the exact in-app message and any error code.

03 · The spreadsheet gets to stay

CSV & Numbers

For a one-time copy, use Settings → Export CSV and choose where to save or share the files.

For a regularly updated copy, use Settings → Spreadsheet mirror:

  1. Tap Choose a folder and select a folder in iCloud Drive.
  2. Keep Glovebox open while it finishes its initial sync and writes the files. Use Refresh now when you want a fresh copy.
  3. In Files, open the generated Glovebox CSV folder. Open activity.csv in Numbers for the readable activity ledger; the other CSVs contain the individual record tables.

For a family spreadsheet, choose one phone to publish the shared fleet, then share that folder through Files. Each phone creates its own generated folder.

The app is the original; the CSVs are its copy.
Manual spreadsheet edits do not come back into Glovebox and may be overwritten. Make a separate copy before editing. A saved .numbers document does not refresh automatically.

“Written locally” confirms the files were saved on that phone. iCloud Drive handles uploading them. Mirroring runs while Glovebox is active; it is not a continuous background backup. Photos and receipt attachments are not included.

04 · Yours to keep

Your data

You can edit or delete individual records in the app. Turning off Spreadsheet mirror stops future updates and leaves existing exported files in place; remove those copies in Files if you no longer want them.

Photos and receipt attachments stay on the device. Fleet data removal in Settings affects the active fleet: an owner’s deletion affects all participants, while a participant’s removal leaves the shared fleet. Read the privacy policy for the full details.

Still stuck?

Send a note.

Include your Glovebox version/build, iPhone model, iOS version, and the steps that led to the problem. For sharing issues, include the exact error text or code.

Leave out passwords and private vehicle or financial information. If you attach a screenshot or diagnostic export, review it first.
